JUDGING GUIDELINES
At One of One, our goal is to celebrate creativity, originality, and the exceptional work coming out of our city—not to foster competition but to elevate our shared community. This is a celebration of the work we’ve created, the risks we’ve taken, and the spirit of collaboration that moves us all forward.
To ensure fairness and objectivity, judging will take place online and entries will be anonymous, allowing each project to be evaluated on its own merits. It is important to note that if a judge has submitted work to One of One, they will not judge the category in which they have entered. Our People’s Choice Award will be determined through public voting where the public can engage with and support the work that inspires them most.
At its heart, One of One is about shining a light on the incredible talent in our city, celebrating every win, and reminding ourselves that when we lift each other up, we elevate our entire community.

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED
Award Eligibility and Submission Guidelines
Projects must have been completed between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024.
The submitting individual or team must be based in or have completed the work in the National Capital Region.
All entries must be submitted by FEBRUARY 10, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST.
Projects can be submitted into multiple categories
Once submission is purchased, you will receive an email requesting all relevant required information (your info, project info, photos!)
The One of One Awards exists to celebrate creativity in all its forms. We don't believe in strict, rigid parameters—so don’t let them stop you from submitting your beautiful work. Whether your project is bold, unconventional, or defies traditional definitions of success, we want to see it all.

In the art and design world, being “One of One” is the ultimate expression of uniqueness — a one-off, completely original piece that stands apart from the rest. The intention of the 1/1 Awards is to celebrate the projects that defy replication, the ideas that break the mold, and the creators who are leaving their lasting marks on our city.
From bold colors to fearless materials, and budget makeovers to projects that never came to life — this event is a stage for Ottawa’s most exceptional and irreplaceable interior design and architecture projects. And ultimately, it’s not just about awards, it’s about showcasing originality, fostering community, and honoring the visionaries that are shaping our city’s creative landscape.
